The Aro of Oro, Kwara State, Chief Gabriel Abioye and the Chief Imam of Oro Central Mosque, Alhaji Mikail Onisan, on Sunday, urged members of the All Progressives Congress to sheathe their swords in the interest of the party.

They appealed for a special prayer to be organised for the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at his Oro country home in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking on behalf of other Oro High Chiefs, Abioye counselled all APC members to shun divisive tendencies.

Abioye said, "I appeal to all politicians in the state to use their positions for the betterment of all so that 2023 will be a walkover for APC in the state. I enjoin you to bury the antagonism in APC.

"If leaders are enmeshed in a battle for supremacy, I want the followers to be more united so that APC will have another governorship term come 2023."

Conducting the prayers, Onisan said that the "ongoing conspiracy and gang-up against Lai Mohammed by political detractors would amount to nothing."

"Lai Mohammed brought APC to Kwara state. Surprisingly, some people he assisted to positions of authority are now against him," he alleged.

Earlier, the APC Chairman, Oro Ward 2 Joseph Ibitoye, hailed the "tremendous role" of the minister in the victory of the party in the state.
