Senator Bukola Saraki (Kwara Central, PDP) has congratulated the winner of the weekend polls in Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

Saraki in a statement said Mimiko's victory is one "for all lovers of democracy and indeed the people of Ondo".

He further said: "Dr. Olusegun Mimiko's first term in office has attested to by the good people of Ondo State has earned him a well deserved victory. This is indeed a lesson and reminder to all political office holders to work in accordance with people-oriented programs at the grass-root levels to bring about the much desired catalyst for social and economic development."

Senator Saraki, whose party PDP came second in the guber polls, urged Mimiko to "be magnanimous in victory and the other aspirants should cooperate and work in harmony with the returning governor to hasten development."

Saraki gave kudos to INEC led by Attahiru Jega, security agencies and others that mad the election a success.
