The President of The Gobir Foundation and former Governorship Aspirant in the 2019 general elections in Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Garba Gobir, on Tuesday, commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the Maiyaki family; and Ilorin Emirate on the demise of the Grand Khalifah of Tijjaniyah, Kwara State, Sheikh Abdulrahman Yusuf Maiyaki.

Gobir, in a statement issued by his media office, described the late scholar as an inspirational leader and Islamic teacher of repute who will be solely missed by his adherents, admirers and the entire Muslim Ummah.

The statement reads, "He was an Islamic leader who radiated peace and calmness. He was a leading light.

"Condolences go out to His Royal Highness, The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, the entire Ilorin Emirate and particularly the illustrious Maiyaki family for this irreparable loss. May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the deceased of his shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaus. Amin."
