Kwara pilgrims await NAHCON decision on 2020 hajj

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ilorin says it is still waiting for the decision of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on the 2020 international pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Tunde Jimoh made the clarification during an interactive session with newsmen in Ilorin on Friday.

He explained that the decision by Saudi Authority was in the best interest of the entire Muslim Humah which must be received in good faith.

The Executive Secretary added that the measures are part of efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus pandemic, which has become a global threat .

Alhaji Tunde Jimoh said that as soon as the board receives formal decision from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) it would have no option than to commence the implementation of the decision that will be in the interest of the Kwara intending Pilgrims.

He therefore commended the patience of this year's intending Pilgrims from the state for their prayers and support and that of the Islamic scholars and the general public since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
