Ilorin communities get solar-powered boreholes

A PHILANTHROPIST Alhaji Abdulmumini Jawondo has donated three solar-powered motorized boreholes to three communities in Ilorin.

The beneficiary communities are located at Adewole, Alanamu and Badari wards in Ilorin West local government area of the state.

The donor gave out the project under Abdulmumini Jawondo Foundation.

In his remarks during the commissioning of the boreholes in Ilorin, Alhaji Jawondo said the foundation is poised to improving the well-being of the people and complement government's efforts in its bid to provide clean and safe drinking water for the people of the state.

He explained that the foundation centred it activities on the provision of educational supports, rural health programme and empowerment of youths.

Alhaji Sanni-Jawondo thanked the state Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq for creating an enabling environment for the citizens to display philanthropic tendencies as against the practice by past leaders in the state.

He promised to continue to support state government in all ramifications as it is the ideal pratice all over the world.

He enjoined well-meaning Kwarans to rally round Governor AbdulRasaq in his bid to fixing deteriorated infrastructures.

The state Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi represented at the event Hassan Kehinde-Garuba said the state is ready to partner with individuals, groups and organizations for the overall development of the state Mr. Alabi urged all and sundry to pray for the success of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration.

He appreciated the donor for his gesture adding that the boreholes would go a long way in alleviating the problem of water in the State.

Mr Alabi urged philanthropic individuals and organizations to replicate the gesture in other communities as it is one of the surest way of improving the life of citizens.
