Four expatriates, believed to be Turks, were on Saturday abducted from a pub in Gbale village in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident, according to sources, occurred around 10pm when the men were having some drink at the pub when a gang of six armed men invaded the pub and took the victims away.

The identities of the victims were later revealed as Yasin Colak, 33; Senerapal, 40; Ergun Yurdakul, 35; and Seyit Keklik, 25.

The victims were said to be working with the Instabul Concrete Limited in Gbale.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, adding that the state Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had dispatched a team of the Operation Puff Adder operatives to commence an immediate search of the forests in the area to rescue the victims and arrest the hoodlums.

He added that the efforts of the police were beginning to yield positive results, but did not state if any arrest had so far been made.
