Kwara Employs 1,410 Teachers

No fewer than 1,410 teachers were employed in last one year, the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has disclosed.

Addressing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts at the Charity House of the Iloffa Road resident of the Waziri of Ilorin, yesterday in Ilorin, the governor said the government had settle salaries of all teachers.

Governor Ahmed who disclosed that the state already had 25,000 teachers across primary school in the state said arrangement had been concluded on the approval of 181 projects across primary schools in the state.

He also told party members about policies and programmes of his government, clearing air on the delay that greeted payment of local government salaries.

Also speaking, a permanent member I of the state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Zhikrullahi Sholageru said arrangement had been concluded on the commencement of the projects.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Abubakar Kannike said the Kaima/Kishi road is to gulp N6 billion.

He added that the state government had notified the Federal Government in the project since it is Federal Government project.

Kannike who spoke about various projects embarked upon by the present administration, appealed to the people to exercise patient with the government.

The state Commissioner for Energy also spoke about several projects embarked upon through his ministry.
