Okada Riders Declare Support for Dr Ali Ahmad as Governor

Over five thousands members of the Kwara State chapter of Okada Rider Association of Nigeria have declared their support for the candidature of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the next year's governorship election in the state.

Speaking at the solidarity rally organised in support of the candidature of Dr Ali Ahmad, the chairman of the Association, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Olademeji, explained that the rally in support of the Speaker, became expedient in view of his roles in ensuring the existence and well being of members of the Association.

Alhaji olademji disclosed that the state House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, had demonstrated responsiveness to the yearnings of members of the Association, pointing out that this was now time for them to pay back.

He said all members across the state had resolved to work assiduously for his success at both the primaries of the PDP and at governorship election next year.

The chairman of the association explained that his pedigree and antecedent had demonstrated that he would be an accessible, listening and responsive Governor, if given the opportunity and urged all the delegates of the party and political gladiators in the state, to ensure his emergence as the flag bearer of the party in view of his track record of achievements and humane disposition.

Responding, the Speaker said he was humbled by the gesture of the state chapter of Okada Rider Association and promised to the continue to justify the confidence repose in him.

Dr Ali Ahmad observed that democracy could only be meaningful, when democratic government at all levels embark on programmes and politics that would enhance the wellbeing of the masses, who voted them into power.

The rally was attended by former and serving members of the state House of Assembly, former and serving members of the state, executive council, former council chairmen, party chieftains, women and youths across the state.
