2019: Adeshina, Asa Stakeholders Describe Kwara Speaker Most Qualified Gubernatorial Aspirant

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad, has been described as the most qualified aspirant,who understands the intricacies of governance, if given the mandate.

A former Chairman of Asa Local Government Council, Alh. Wahab Bolakale Lawal, made the observation while speaking on behalf of stakeholders of the party in Asa Local Government Area, during the Speaker's consultation with stakeholders in the area.

Alhaji Lawal, who is also a former acting Chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Board, explained that the Speaker, having mingled with people from the grassroots all these years is no longer strange to them and as such they now trust him and know that he will attend more to issues affecting them.

In his remarks, the Chairman of PDP Kwara Central Senatorial District, Alh. Jimoh Adeshina, who expressed confidence in the ability of the Speaker in moving the State forward, urged him to be fair to all ethno- religious groups in the state, to ensure equity and justice.

Alhaji Adeshina then assured him of the total support of the stakeholders in Asa Local Government in ensuring the realisation of his ambition of governing the state.

Equally speaking, a former Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency Relief, Alh Duro Mohammed, disclosed that the Speaker's pedigree made it imperative for the people of the area to commit to supporting his aspiration.

Earlier, the Speaker, while soliciting the support of the stakeholders in Asa Local Government Area for his candidature, recalled his efforts at monitoring, through the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, the initiation of the on-going construction of Afon - Aboto- Oyo state boundary project by the Federal Government and promised to run an all inclusive government if elected as governor of the state.

The Speaker who received overwhelming support of the women group in the area, was received by stakeholders including all former Chairmen of As a Local Government Council, former and serving members of the State Executive Council,party chieftains let by the Chairman, youths and women leaders in the area.
