COED Oro Senior Staff Union inaugurates new executive

The Senior Staff of Union of Colleges of Education in Nigeria (SSUCOEN), College of Education Oro Chapter in Kwara State has inaugurated it's new executive.

The inauguration followed the association's general election held at the college's Auditorium on Friday which produced the new executive members.

The executive, headed by Mr Michael Adeyemi as Chairman, is saddled with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the association for the next four years.

Comrade Ebun Atinuke, the Zonal Chairman of the association, in his remarks, urged the new executive members to live above board and be good ambassadors of the association.

He also called on members to imbibe the act of honesty, transparency, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Atinuke equally urged the college management to see the association and it's executive as partners in progress and always approach issues with utmost humility and understanding.

The Provost of the College, Dr Yinka Olowonirejuaro, on his part, pledged to partner and work in harmonious relationship with the newly inaugurated executive in moving the college, it's management and the students forward.

Prof. Kenneth Adeyemi, Chairman, Governing Council of the College, reiterated the management's determination to pay the outstanding arrears of allowances being owed the workers.

"Effort is already in the pipeline toward ensuring that the accumulated arrears being owed the workers are paid within the stipulated tenure of this council," he said.

Alhaji Abdulkareem Amuda-Kannike, the out-gone Chairman, thanked the association and the management for the opportunity given to him to serve in that capacity.

"No word can best described how happy i am today for making this event memorable in the lives of our association.

"Since my appointment as Chairman Almighty Allah has been my guidance to whom all glory is due. I equally thanked and appreciated the entire members for their untiring support," he said.

Mr Adeyemi, the newly inaugurated Chairman, in his own remark, described his emergence as a call to the service of God and humanity.

He promised to run an open administration and discharge it's duty with all sense of humility, efficiency, dedication and diligence.

"I want to assure the management that I will strive to be a good partner, efficient collaborator, but at the same time I will not compromise," he said.

Present at the inauguration were Mr Akeem Akinborode, representing the National Commiasion for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and Mr Egunjobi Charles, SSUCOEN Zonal Treasurer, amongst others.

Other members of the inaugurated executive are; Alhaji Olagoke Rabiu - Vice Chairman, Mrs Taibat Saka Bolanta – General Secretary, Mr Adedotun Adeyinka - Ass. Gen. Secretary, Mrs Abdulmalik Rukayat - Treasurer, Mr Yusuf Abdullahi - Fin. Sec./Auditor and Mr Yakub Isiaka - PRO.
