Wife of the Kwara state Governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, has counselled young ladies to acquire vocational skills in addition to their education before going into marriage in order to be self-reliant. She said for ladies to be successful mothers and "measure up to the challenges of the contemporary world, they must rise above board."

The governor's wife spoke while declaring open, the 2017 Annual Zonal Youth camp of the Federation of Muslims Women's Association of Nigeria (FOAMWAN), South-West Zone B currently on-going in Ilorin, the theme "Youth As an Agent of Positive Change."

The zone comprised Ekiti, Kwara, Osun, Lagos, Ondo and Kogi states. Represented by the Commissioner for Women Aff airs, Hajia Asiat Ayinke Saka, the governor's wife advised participants at the week-long camp to take advantage of the vocational training opportunities in the state.
