Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Sarah Alade, an ambassador designate, Prof. Issa Gana, and an official of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Prof. Kamil Kamaldeen are among high profile individuals billed to deliver Kwara State 50th anniversary lectures.

The lecture series is part of activities lined up to mark the Golden Jubilee celebration of the State. According to a statement by the Kwara@50 Planning Committee, Prof. Gana will on Thursday, 18 May, speak on the topic "Grassroots and Community Development Issues in Kwara State: its evolution and prognosis."

The lecture will hold at the Banquet Hall, opposite Government House, Ilorin by 11am. Discussants for that day are Prof. Deboye Kolawole (KWASU), Dr. I.K. Adam (UNILORIN), and Alhaji Kunle Oyinloye. Barr. Saka Isau (SAN) will chair the occasion.

Similarly, Prof. Kamil Kamaldeen will on Monday 22 May, deliver a lecture on "Governance and Development in Kwara State: the past, the present and the future", which will also hold at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin by 9am.

Discussants at the lecture will be Prof. Saka Mahmud and Prof. Hassan Saliu, while Elder J. Ogunlowo (OON) will be the Chairman of the event.

It will then be the turn of Dr. Sarah Alade on Tuesday 23 May, to address the topic, "Socio-Economic Development of Kwara State: An Agenda for the Future." The lecture will hold at Kwara Hotel by 10:30 am.

Prof. S.S. Dada (KWASU), Prof. K.S. Adeyemi (KWASU) and KWIRS Chairman, Dr. Muritala Awodun will be the discussants. LUBCON Chairman, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim, will be the Chairman of the occasion.
