Oliha's Widow, Aisosa Begs Kwara State, FG To Redeem Pledges

Date: 2017-05-09

Late Thompson Oliha's wife, Aisosa has pleaded with the Kwara Stare Government and Federal Government to redeem their pledges respectively made to the family and the deceased.

Aisosa made this plea Sunday on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" a popular television programme sponsored by MTN Nigeria.

Kwara State Government promised the family the sum of One Million naira when the late Super Eagles midfield maestro passed in 2013 while working as an assistant coach at Kwara State Football College under Clemens Westerhof. The family has also yet to receive a house reward from Federal Government as a member of triumphant Super Eagles team to the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

"The Kwara State Government pledged the sum of One million naira when my husband passed in 2013, but we have not received the money. I am therefore using this medium to appeal to them to fulfill the pledge. The Federal Government has not given us the house my husband got as a reward for winning the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia. Some members of the team who wanted their houses in Lagos have received theirs. I have all papers pertaining to the house but it has not been allocated to us," lamented Aisosa, who walked away with the sum of one million naira from the show.

Anchor of the programme, Frank Edoho, said Mrs Oliha and her children are currently finding it difficult to make ends meet and have been squatting with friends since 2013.

Edoho pleaded with kind-hearted Nigerians and corporate bodies to contribute generously to the welfare of the Oliha family, stating that all donations be paid into Mrs Oliha's account: AISOSA OLIHA, FIRST BANK 3076623036
