Easter: Senator Rafiu Hosts CAN to Celebrate Easter

The Kwara South Senator, Dr. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, in a thanks giving session with the Kwara South Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) to mark this year's Easter celebration. The prayer session which is an annual event took place at Ebenezer Church Osi on the 9th April, 2017.

The Senator appreciated the Kwara South CAN on behalf the leadership of Kwara APC, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, for their prayers and support in the last general elections.

Senator Rafiu delivered the good will message of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, assuring the Christian community in Kwara south of more developments across the state.

At the occasion, the beneficiaries of the Senator Rafiu Ibrahim's Jerusalem Pilgrimage appreciated the senator and prayed for the Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for God's guidance and protection at all times on the seat as the Nigerian Senate President and the Chairman 8th National Assembly.

The CAN Chairmen of the seven Local Government Areas of Kwara South, in their different speeches appreciated Senator Rafiu for associating with CAN and thanked him for his human capital development across the Kwara South.

They however, placed their requests for more developmental projects before the Senator. Rev. Father Joseph Obioma Lawani, the Ekiti CAN Chairman, Pastor Gabriel Ibitoye, the CAN Chairman Offa, Rev. Tayo Bakinde, CAN Chairman Oyun, Rev. Tayo Faremi, CAN Coordinator Offa. In their separate reactions, praised the senator on his legislative stewardship and constituency projects. They however placed their requests for more developmental projects before the Senator.

Several other speakers at the occasion are, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, Hon. Ebun Owolabi, Hon. Sikira Anako, Senator Bisi Oyewo. They described Senator Rafiu as responsible, responsive as well as a bridge builder. They further assured Kwara South CAN of the support of the Senator to the Christian community.

The Kwara APC Secretary, Hon. Chief Bode Adekanye, urged CAN not to leave party politics only in the hands of the politicians. Called for more political participation from among the people.

The Senator who was overwhelmed with the love and praises from the Kwara South CAN, thanked God almighty for the opportunity he had and prayed for God's grace to be able to do more for humanity. On their various requests, he promised to deliver their messages to the Leader, the Nigerian Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and to his brother and Leader in Kwara South, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed. He assured them of more developments across Kwara and in particular in Kwara South.

Pastor Gabriel Ibitoye, the CAN Chairman Offa LG, led the joint CAN prayer session to appreciate Senator Rafiu Ibrahim and thank God for his life. He also also prayed for the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed for peace and development in the land.

As part of this year's activities, the beneficiaries of Senator Rafiu Jerusalem Pilgrimage, held thanks giving service in honour of the Senator and presented him a belated golden jubilee birthday present which was held late last year while they were away.
