ABS captain eyes victory against Enyimba

Date: 2017-03-15

The captain of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, Abdullahi Boje, has asked his teammates to respond to Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 14 encounter with a convincing win over Enyimba.

The captain told newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday that the response became necessary because of his team's poor showing in Sagamu against Remo Stars.

"We must respond very well against Enyimba on Sunday because we (players) are not happy with the result in Shagamu,'' he said.

"Our fans so much believe in this team and we must not let them down, hence the need to make them happy on Sunday. We have the quality to do well in every game and we must show we can rub shoulders with the big boys. Thank God there is now level playing ground to show what you have, I mean you can now win anywhere if you play well."

Boje added that he has met with his mates and they have resolved to improve on their performance not only on Sunday but in every other match.

The ABS captain who had kept five clean sheets in 12 games this season said the team is working hard every day to be among the best teams in the country.
