Ahmed Seeks Cooperation With Saudi Govt

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has requested for partnership and cooperation from the Saudi Arabian government in the areas of agriculture, education and manufacturing sectors.

The Governor also disclosed that most of the security problems confronting the nation were as a result of illiteracy, ignorance and joblessness among youths of the nation.

Governor Ahmed spoke at the foundation laying ceremony of proposed Darul-Kitab University, Agbeyangi-Ilorin, an outskirt of the state capital.

Ahmed who lauded the efforts of the Promoter of the University, Dr. AbdulKadir Salman, stressed that the establishment of the institution will further contribute to solving the challenges confronting the youths and country at large.

He further maintained that his administration had established the International Vocational Centre,Ajase-Ipo to address technical and vocational skills required for the development of needs of the state

He however assured the general public that his administration would continue to create enabling environments for the establishment of such institution and investment opportunities.

Also Speaking, the Team Leader of the Saudi Arabian delegation, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, expressed that readiness of Saudi Arabian government to support educational advancement among nations especially youths development.

He stressed that equation is the bedrock every developed nation even as he condemned terrorism and promised to partner with the Kwara State government on mutual benefit at all times.

In his remarks, the Promoter of the proposed University, of the proposed, Dr. AbdulKadir Salman, said the institution had secured an interim approval from the Nigeria's University Commission (NUC) to proceed on erection of structures for the university.

He said the desire to establish the university was born out of the passion to contribute to the growth and development of the community just like he had done with Darul-Kitab Wa Sanna College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gaa-Akanbi
