Date: 2016-08-21

Kwara State Government has again promised to be more transparent and accountable to the people of Kwara in all governmental affairs.

The promise was made Friday by the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Alhaji Mahmud Babatunde Ajeigbe in his office yesterday while receiving youths who paid him a courtesy call. The youths commended the state government for its transparency and accountability in her affairs.

Alhaji Ajeigbe thanked the group for their support. He said their gesture would only motivate the government to be more transparent and accountable in governmental affair in the state. He further noted that, the government has not for once forgotten that the people are the government because they put us here to serve them.

He said Governor Ahmed was always concerned about being democratic in his administration and getting a feed back in other to know where the government had excelled and identify lapses as well, which he considers as the only way to move forward in the state.

The youths led by Mr. Lekan Saka, expressed their gratitude to the governor for not keeping people of Kwara state in the dark. Mr. Saka said, although Kwara state was not yet where it aspired to be, the openness of the government in its proceedings showed it has no skeleton in its cupboard.

He made reference to the Civil Servants Interactive session with the governor and the commissioner's appearance twice a week on Radio to listen to peoples plight and update them on government proceedings, which he said proved the government was up and doing and described the government gesture as highest level of democracy and a hope for the people of Kwara that better things are coming under the leadership of the state government.

They however, beseeched the state government not to relent in its effort to lead Kwara state to a greater height and obliged them not to pay attention to criticism from minority groups stating they are opposition group that would never believe in the government projects, they should rather focus on the task at hand by repositioning Kwara economy and infrastructural facility of the state.
