ABS appeals NFF Disciplinary Committee's decision
It would be recalled that the Disciplinary Committee of the NFF at the end of its meeting on Thursday in Abuja awarded 3 points and 3 goals to Cofine FC and fined the Ilorin based team N1m for its failure to honour the game.
But the club said in a statement on Friday that it was the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF), that directed it's players not to honour the week 2 match due to some entitlements owed the players then.
The club in the statement explained that the debts have since been cleared as players, officials and the technical crew received their entitlements up to date some weeks ago.
The statement added that when an official of the club appeared before the Committee, it tendered a NANPF letter to NNL confirming it was it that asked the players to boycott the game.
The club appealed to the NFF to reconsider it's decision in the interest of Fair play.
