DStv Men's Premier Basketball League: Kwara Falcons beat Customs 76-61 to pick fourth win
Kwara Falcons male basketball club on Saturday in Ilorin defeated visiting Customs of Lagos 76-61 points to record their fourth victory of the season.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Atlantic Conference game in the 2016 DStv Men's Premier Basketball League was played at the State Stadium Complex's Indoor Sports Hall. The hosts had gone behind 13-18 points in the first quarter but came back stronger in the second quarter to lead 33-30.
The Falcons maintained their second quarter performance to win the third quarter, allowing the visitors to score only seven points in the quarter for a 52-37 points lead. The Kwara Falcons held on for a 24-24 ending in the final quarter as he Customs resurged, for the game to end 76-61.
The hosts thus completed a double over the Customs, having won 92-71 in the first game played on Friday at the same venue. Meanwhile, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has once again congratulated the team, for their successive wins in the ongoing league.
Ahmed, in a statement on Saturday in Ilorin by his SSA on Media and Communications, Muyideen Akorede, applauded the team and enjoined it to sustain the success throughout the season.
He noted that the good people of Kwara were proud of the team's performance so far and would be happy to see them emerge league winners.
The governor also assured the team of the state government's support, while reiterating the commitment of his administration towards the development of sports in the state.(NAN)
