Gov. Ahmed congratulates Kwara Falcons for winning first match

Date: 2016-03-21

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has congratulated the state's basketball team, Kwara Falcons, for winning their first match of the 2016 Basketball Premier League.

Kwara Falcons on Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State defeated the Oluyole Warriors of Oyo State 76-53 in the first game of the Atlantic conference.

Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, congratulated the team and assured them of the continued support of the state government.

He also urged them to maintain the tempo in their subsequent matches and top the league by the end of the season.

The Governor, who attributed the Falcons' victory over their Oyo State counterpart to their discipline and tactical approach to the game, said his government would continue to invest in sports development in the state.
