Kwara Govt. Advocates Need For Improved Education Sector
The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has called for declaration of emergency in the education sector especially at the basic level in the country.
The governor also supported the re-introduction of grade two certificate to enhance teacher’s quality and bridge gaps in the nation’s education sector.
Governor Ahmed made his position known when he received the executive members of the Ilorin Teachers College (Sheikh Abdulkadir College, Ilorin) old students association led by its national president, Alhaji Uthman Balogun.
The governor who described teaching as a noble profession tasked various associations in the education sector to evolve policy direction for the federal and states governments in re-introducing grade two system of education.
He emphasized the return of the college to Teachers Training College and the establishment of teachers training colleges in two other senatorial districts to produce grade two teachers and improve teachers quality in the state.
