New kwara CP promises to operate an intelligent-led policing

The newly posted Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr Sam Okaula says he will operate an intelligent-led policing to enable the police be abreast of development in all parts of the state.

Mr Okaula made this disclosure today during his maiden interactive session with newsmen at the conference room of the police headquarters in Ilorin, the state capital.

The new Police boss also said under his leadership at the state police command, officers and men must have zero tolerance for corruption.

Mr Okaula added that the police would be community based in the discharge of their duties, saying that all stakeholders would be involved in policing the state.

The Police Commissioner warned criminals in the state to relocate or meet their waterloo and also advised those that want to take laws into their hands to have a rethink as such act would not be tolerated any longer.

Peace and Harmony

Mr Okaula gave the assurance that the peace and harmony which the state is known for would be sustained and appealed to all stakeholders particularly the media to give the police adequate support in terms of provision of useful information and balanced reportage.

According to him, he is in the State to work and ensure a crime free society and urged Kwarans to support him as he would be pro-active in the discharge of his duties.

VON correspondent, in kwara state reports that the new CP who hails from Benue State, succeeds CP Esosa Amadasun who only spent less than five month in the state police command before he was redeployed to the headquarters in Abuja.

CP Sam Okaula was a onetime public Relations Officer in the defunct Gongola State, officer in charge of SARS in Lagos State police command and also served as principal staff officer to four successive Inspectors General of Police until his new posting.
