Kwara Assembly summons commissioner, others over water board workers' strike

Following the strike action embarked upon by workers of Kwara state water corporation, the state's house of assembly yesterday urged the government to come up with comprehensive policy that will make government's agencies, self sustaining to enhance their viability.

The House equally directed the state's Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. AbdulRasaq Akorede and the management of the Water Corporation and other stakeholders to appear before its committee on Agriculture, Natural and Water Resources with a view to finding amicable and enduring solution to the workers' strike.

It mandated the committee to submit its report to the House within seven days.
