Kogi guber: Kwara Ebira community drums support for Yahaya Bello

Date: 2015-12-04

Following the intrigues that trailed replacement for governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Late Abubakar Audu, Ebira indigenes resident in Kwara State yesterday threw their weights behind the candidacy of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the December 5 supplementary elections.

A statement jointly signed by Alhaji Ezzu Momoh and Alhaji Idris Jimoh in Ilorin on behalf of Ebira People Resident in Kwara State, said Bello had all it takes to secure victory for the APC in the poll. They called on leaders of the party in the state to rally support for his emergence and victory at the supplementary poll.

The death of Audu threw APC in controversy over who replaces him as demanded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Supporters of running mate to Audu, Hon James Falake and Bello on Monday clashed at the APC national secretariat in Abuja where a meeting was fixed to resolve the logjam.
