No Invasion Of Kwara Communities, Says Police
THE Kwara State Police Command yesterday dispelled an online report of an alleged invasion of Okuta, a Nigerian boundary town between Nigeria and Benin Republic by suspected farmers from Benin Republic.
The spokesman of the Police Ajayi Okasanmi DSP said the report was the figment of the imagination of the reporter, warning on line operators covering the activities of the state to publish only confirmed reports from the Police.
The Guardian investigations showed that there was a mild rift between the people of Okuta in Kwara state and their Benin Republic neighbours over ownership of a vast arable land "some 10months ago.
