IPMAN Threatens Not To Buy Or Load Fuel

Date: 2015-11-05

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has vowed not to load or sell fuel to the public until the Federal government pumps fuel to Ilorin depot of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

This comes as the shortage of fuel bites higher across Kwara State especially in Ilorin the state capital.

While the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, inspected the filling stations and appealed to them, they called on the Federal government to deregulate the oil sector in order to reduce cost of fuel and guard against hoarding and other vices.

The State Chairman of IPMAN, Okanlawon Olanrewaju, said that no federal government depot across the western zone has fuel to sell.

He lamented that they buy from private depots at exorbitant prices, making it difficult to sell at controlled price.

Mr Olanrewaju maintained that since the harassment from the federal government agencies was getting too much , they have decided to stop buying or loading fuel until the government pumps fuel to Ilorin depot of the NNPC, which could serve the northern part of the country.
