Asa LG chair wades into NRC/Sapati Ile community crisis
The chairman of Asa local government, Alhaji Sakariyahu Obalana has urged the entire people of Sapati Ile to remain peaceful as the council will find profound solution to the problem of the community with immediate effect stressing that the Nigeria railway corporation was trying to protect the rail materials for the benefit of everybody.
The council boss made this known yesterday when he and his team paid emergency visit to the rail road that pass through the Sapati Ile community, where he promised that adequate measures will be put in place to stop the flood that was now affecting the community due to the action of the Nigeria Railway Corporation. The chairman had earlier directed the head of works of the local government to visit the community on Monday to explore the solution the council could proffer in order to make life meaningful for the entire people of the community. He also revealed that a semi bridge would be constructed with immediate effect in order to make the movement ?of the people easy and make their commercial activities easy in the community.
He said " the council will find immediate solution to the feud, we will see if we can construct a semi bridge or a culvert in order to save the soul of the community because the railway corporation has divided the community into two which is very dangerous for the security of lives and property of the people". "As you can see I have directed the head of works in the local government to bring his team to this place on Monday morning to inspect the place ?and after the inspection they will submit the proposal of the project and swing into action immediately so as to make life meaningful for the entire people of the community".
While speaking, the chairman Sapati Ile community development association, Alhaji Abdulganeey Dare Salam, applauded the council's boss for wading into the crisis with immediate effect, and therefore appealed to the council to do all in its power to curtail the flood that led to the feud with immediate effect. He added that the action of the NRC had affected the standard of living of the people and their commercial activities stressing that ever since the action of the NRC, flood had been disturbing the people of the community.
