Senate Leadership: Gov Ahmed commends senators on vote of confidence

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has congratulated the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki over the renewed confidence repose on him by distinguished members of the Red Chamber on Tuesday at its plenary session.

According to Dr Ahmed in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahaab Oba, "the vote of confidence by 81 senators signifies that the distinguished senators can always put personal differences aside when our collective destiny is on the line. I'm confident that with this vote of confidence passed on the senate leadership, the upper chamber has finally positioned itself to focus on the legislative business of making laws for good governance in the country".

Dr Ahmed said the vote of confidence by the Senators on its leadership is also a testimony of the sterling leadership qualities of the senate president.? The governor recalled that during the two terms of Dr Saraki as the governor of Kwara State, he laid a solid foundation for the socio-economic transformation of the State, particularly in the area of transparency, probity and accountability through the establishment of Price Intelligent Unit which saved the state millions of naira.

"It is on record that through his ingenuity and resourcefulness in governance, Kwara state become a reference point on community health insurance and agricultural hub in North Central zone of Nigeria", the governor said.

Dr Ahmed also congratulated Hon Femi Gbajabiamila on his emergence as the majority leader of the 8th House of Representatives and expressed optimism that his antecedents and experience would up the ante of legislative business in the annals of democracy in Nigeria.
