UNILORIN expels 10 students over misconduct
Besides, one was rusticated; two were given warnings, while three others were exonerated
Those expelled according to statement obtained by Pilot Education are; Akanbi, Ayodeji Bolaji (11/15CA039)- Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Olaoye Olawale (07/55EH192)- Biochemistry; Abbas Ismail (11/15CB002)- Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Isaac Oluleye Timilehin (12/55EG106)- Statistics; Taiwo Idris Adekunle (11/15CB140)- Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Kehinde Christiana Yetunde (12/15CB121)- Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Saka Niyi Sadudeen (12/15CB216)- Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Gbadamosi Timelehin Tope (11/55EG09)- Statistics; Bamidele Kolawole Christopher (11/55EG073)- Statistics and Jimoh Jamiu Bamidele (12/25PC053) from Department of Educational Technology.
One Nwafor Ebuka with Matriculation Number-11/15CF056- from Department of Performing Arts, was rusticated by the institution, while Ayilara Oluwasayo Francisa (11/46KA021) of Department of Agriculture and Ogunyemi Ibukunoluwa Temitope (13/10AS013) from Forest Resources Management and Wildlife, were handed yellow card.
Meanwhile, Arowogbola Taiwo Rapheal (13/77JF052)-Social Work; Aniyikaiye Kehinde Joshua (13/77JF050)- Social Work; Oluwalambe Suraj (12/66ME094)- Geography and Environmental Management, were exonerated of the allegation of misconduct by SDC.
Recall that Pilot Education had exclusively reported that 26 students were invited to appear before the 193rd meeting of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC) held on Wednesday, 1st April, 2015 in the Faculty of Arts Boardroom.
A photocopy of letter of expulsion addressed to Akanbi Ayodeji Bolaji, one of those expelled, which was signed by Mrs. K.W. Sallee on behalf of the Registrar, Obafemi Emmanuel, said he was expelled upon establishment of allegation of misconduct on him.
It reads: “LETTER OF EXPULSION: You will recall that you appeared before the Students' Disciplinary Committee (SDC) to defend yourself in respect of an allegation of misconduct levelled against you.
“After due consideration of all evidence before it, the Committee was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the allegation of misconduct has been established against you. It has accordingly recommended to the Vice-Chancellor, who in exercise of the powers conferred on him, has directed that you AKANBI, Ayodeji Bolaji be expelled from the University.
“Accordingly, you are hereby expelled from the University with immediate effect.
“You are required to submit forthwith, all University properties in your custody including your Student Identity Card to the Dean of Student Affairs or his representative and keep off the Campus.
“In case you are dissatisfied with this decision, you are free to appeal to the University Council through the Dean of your Faculty and the Vice-Chancellor within forty-eight (48) days of the date of this letter.”
