North Central must produce Senate Presidency - Kwara APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state on Tuesday appealed to the national leadership of the party not to distort the zoning arrangement which ceded the position of the senate president to the North-Central geopolitical zone.
This formed part of the resolutions of the APC's state working committee at the end of its meeting in Ilorin on Tuesday.
The party also organized a special prayer to seek Allah's intervention for the aspiration of Dr. Bukola Saraki to become the senate president in the eighth Senate.
It insisted that the position of the senate president should remain in the North-Central in the interest of fairness, justice and equity.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting of its central working committee, the APC noted that the zone deserved to produce the next Senate President having voted 100 per cent for APC in the just concluded general elections.
The CWC expressed its gratitude to members of the National Working Committee of the party (NWC) for deeming it fit to zone the exalted position to the North-Central zone.
