Ajibola Promises New Glorious Dawn in Kwara
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Senator Simeon Sule Ajibola, has promised to work for a new glorious dawn for the people of the state.
Ajibola in a statement of appreciation signed yesterday by his Personal Assistant, Hon Ganiyu Abolarin, said the PDP government would usher in a new direction that will bring a new lease of life to the people of the state.
He commended the national and state executive, the eleven governorship aspirants, PDP elders, party members and the delegates for making the primary election a success.
The governorship candidate said though the journey for the enthronement of democracy in the state was tough, it had brought unity and oneness for the party to achieve the much desired goal.
He said, "Words are not enough to express our heartfelt appreciation to all people who directly or indirectly contributed to the success recorded so far in our journey to our desired freedom. I am short of adequate words to express the depth of my gratitude to all aspirants. We fought for the enthronement of democracy in Kwara PDP, we did not receive it on a platter of gold. The struggle has brought unity among us all," he said.
Ajibola said he has accepted to take on the gauntlet to freeing Kwara from bondage, stop capital flight, use of foreign contractors and white elephant projects that have no positive impact on the lives of the people of the state. He said, "the PDP mandate is to replace the APC-led government's white elephant projects with people oriented programmes, ensure even development and redistribution of wealth in favour of the masses."
Ajibola said all hands must be on deck to achieve PDP's goal and mission of bringing prosperity to bear on the poverty stricken lives of the people in the state.
According to him, there was the need to put smiles on the faces of the civil servants and small and medium scale entrepreneurs that were the engines of growth and development of the state.
He commended the electoral committee from the national headquarters of the PDP headed by Hon Gabriel Suswan, Governor of Benue State for conducting a transparent and hitch-free primary election.
He also commended the highly professional conduct of the security agencies especially the state commissioner of Police, the Director of State security, the commandant of the Civil Defence Corps, the commander of the Airforce the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and others.
