The monarch stated this yesterday in Ilorin while speaking with journalists at a special prayer marking his 19th year anniversary on the throne as the 11th Emir of Ilorin.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who described the people of Ilorin emirate as peace-loving, liberal and accommodating, charged government at all levels to endeavour to always embark on programmes that could further uplift the standard of the community, stressing that there could not be any meaningful development amidst bad leadership.

He also thanked God for the numerous developments witnessed in the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general in the last 19 years, adding that more could still be achieved with mutual understanding and cooperation.

The Emir however condemned the incessant terrorist attacks in some states in the North-East and appealed to the federal government not to relent in its efforts to curb the dastardly acts through the military force.

He commended the Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, security agencies, traditional rulers as well as the entire people of the state for sustaining the peaceful and harmonious working relation among adherents of the two major religions across the state.
