A two day assessment of the Department of Geology, University of Ilorin has just been completed by the National University Commission (NUC).

The Commission expressed satisfaction over the facilities, equipment and competent man power provided in the department.

Speaking during the presentation of the Commission's reports to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali yesterday at the Vice Chancellor's office, the leader of NUC team, Professor, Aniekan Edet commended the management of the University of Ilorin for putting all necessary machinery in motion to ensure that the Geology Department and other Departments in the University to stand on a good footing.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali thanked the NUC team for taking time to go round the school, pledging that all necessary observations of the commission would be taken care of.

Professor Ambali promised that the school had awarded a number of projects for the supply of equipment, saying that they would be delivered and handed over to the school in the next two months.

The presentation was witnessed by all principal officers of the University and staff of the Department of Physical Sciences.
