Date: 2014-10-17

The Kwara State Government yesterday commenced distribution of 100 transformers to benefitting communities across the state.

The Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, while handing over a new 500/11 KVA transformer to Fagba community and its surroundings said the gesture was meant to improve electricity supply and boost social and economic activities. He urged the benefiting communities to ensure judicious use and adequate security of the equipment.

The remaining 99 transformers which the state government procured would be distributed in the next few days, according to the commissioner.

Abdullahi said: "We are here to present this 500/11 KVA transformer to Fagba community and its environs. What we are doing today is a tip of the iceberg in view of what the state government plans to do to better the lives of citizens."
