The governor said that "despite the prevailing shortcomings of the political class, democracy still remained the preferred form of government".
Ahmed reiterated his conviction that the success of Nigeria's fledgling democracy is a function of robust exchange of ideas and continuous dialogue between government and the people.
He promised to carry all stakeholders along in the implementation of his administration sheared prosperity programme designed to give birth to a new Kwara.
Governor Ahmed in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary to mark this year's Eid-el-Kabir festival, stressed that Nigerians must always work for the good of the country.
He urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of Allah and Nigeria through sacrifice, selfless service and good neighbourliness.
The governor noted that for Nigeria to realize its potentials as a nation, Nigerians of all religions persuasions must work collectively, and consciously, and submit to common religious doctrine of being their brother's keeper.
"We must therefore use the Eld-el-Kabir as another opportunity for us to reflect on the essence of sacrifice and humility as fulcrums for the promotion of harmonious relationship in our polity", he said.
He charged Muslims to see beyond the festive values of the Eid-el-Kabir, but, more importantly, it's symbolic representation of total submission to the will of Allah, goodness to one another and service to humanity as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim.
The governor expressed gratitude to religious leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, trade unions and politicians and the entire people of the state for their prayers and love and for ensuring sustainable peace in the state.
