Saraki urges PDP members for support

In continuation of the process of electing Representatives into elective offices across the country the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the second time in the week recorded a hitch-free party primaries, just as the state governor, Dr Bukola Saraki restated his call for a crisis-free and orderly congress to further strengthened the party’s internal democracy.

Governor Saraki also disclosed to party members and supporters that his administration would soon award a N2billion contract through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology aimed at restoring the glory of education in the State.

He made the call in Ilorin, Thursday while monitoring the party’s primaries to elect aspirants for the House of Representatives for Ilorin West and Asa Constituency held at Baboko Community Secondary School, Ilorin.

Dr Saraki, who urged the party leadership to hold firm grip of their wards and continue to vote for PDP in the subsequent elections, observed that the fortune of the party could only be enhanced when members put party interest above their personal interests.

While thanking members for their support in the past seven and half years, he assured that his administration would continue to spread the dividends of democracy within the remaining period of his administration.

He equally advised them to shun violence both before and after the party’s congresses and also enjoined members of the party to be steadfast and consistent to ensure continuity of good governance in the State.

Dr Saraki however warned members against anti-party activities and assured that his administration would not relent efforts in the bid to make life more meaningful for all and sundry through the execution of people’s oriented projects.

At the end of the primary election, Alhaji Moshood Mustapha emerged the party’s flag bearer for Ilorin West and Asa Constituency in the House of Representatives with 605 votes.
