Ramadan - Kwara Speaker Urges Muslims to Pray for Nigeria

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Razak Atunwa has urged Nigerians to use the Ramadan period to pray for peace and stability of the country.

Atunwa, in a Ramadan message, also urged Muslims to pray for the sustenance of the nation's democracy.

Atunwa said Islam epitomised peace, tolerance and unity, enjoining Muslims to use the holy month to supplicate to Allah for the restoration of peace and stability in Nigeria.

He noted that the current ethno - religious upheavals bedevilling the country, called for sober reflection and concerted effort by all to salvage the nation from the verge of disintegration.

The Speaker who called for purposeful leadership at all tiers of government,advised Nigerians to always respect the constituted authority in the bid to tackle the pyramids of problems confronting the nation.

He praised the people of Kwara for leaving together in harmony and assured that the State House of Assembly would continue to provide the platform for ethno -religious harmony in the state.
