Kwara State governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed, has charged political leaders in the country to ensure equity and justice as panacea for instability and youth restiveness.

Governor Ahmed gave the charge while receiving members of the state Qur'anic Recitation and Memorisation Committee led by the chairman, Alhaji Abdulsalam Ayilara, at the Government House, Ilorin.

The governor, who said equity and inclusiveness were beacons of peace, unity and development in any society, urged Muslims to project the beauty of Islam.

"There is a wave of global misconception about Islam. The only way this can be corrected is when Muslims show the beauty of Islam to others. We must let them understand that nobody is a Muslim except he loves unto his brother what he loves unto himself," Ahmed said.

He stressed that governance had to be premised on the tenets of equity, justice as well as wealth distribution in order to reduce the level of poverty in the society.

According to him, governance had to be done according to the rule God gave to mankind, adding that if the whole world understood the concept of wealth distribution, the world would be a much better place for all.

Alhaji Ayilara said the 11 members of the state's contingent participated at this year's edition of the national Qur'anic recitation and memorisation competition in Jigawa State with three of them emerging winners in various categories.
