Date: 2014-06-26

THE Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has urged Muslims in the country to be on the lookout for the new crescent that may herald the commencement of the month of Ramadan from Friday, June 27.

  In a statement by the Council’s Secretary-General, Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, NSCIA said June 27 corresponds with the 29th Sha’ban, 1435 A.H.

“To this effect, members of the National Moon Sighting Committee have been deployed with appropriate gadgets to various parts of the country for easy sighting of the moon”, he said.
