Governor Ahmed condoles Ajumobi, flood victims
Alhaji Ahmed, who described the flood that claimed several lives and property as most ravaging, urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the aid of the State Government by providing succour for the victims.
In a condolence message to the government and people of Oyo State, Ahmed said: "On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, I express my heartfelt condolence to the State Government and most especially the families of the victims who died in the flood".
He also sympathized with other victims receiving treatment in the hospital and prayed God to grant the families of the dead victims the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
Governor Ahmed specifically lamented the magnitude of the disaster, noting that it was painful to see how the flood swept away able-bodied Nigerians and destroyed several properties acquired through years of sweat.
He, therefore, assured Kwarans resident in Oyo State that government had already taken adequate measure to guarantee their safety.
As an interim measure, Ahmed also advised Governor Ajimobi to immediately relocate all residents along the river banks to prevent a re-occurrence of the ugly incident in future.
