Kwara Utd denies attack on Ref, Team Officials.
The club in a statement on Monday described a report going round some section of the media as false and malicious targeted at tarnishing the image of the law abiding club.
The statement signed by the secretary of the club, Elder Dele Oguntokun, said the host started their unsporting behaviour when one of their fans attacked the Red Cross who had stretched one of the injured Kwara United players out of the pitch and ask them to "take this thing away".
The statement added that the fan was joined by others in harassing anyone connected with the club because the visitors had equalized their hosts' 37th strike, through a beautiful display involving Chijioke Anyanwu and Adeshina Gata who fired home the 81th minute equalizer.
The club's statement further disclosed that the Centre Referee, Bala Marnwa, from Sokoto State bowed to the host threat and ignored his AR2 flag for a foul on one of its players before a Supreme Court player propel the ball with his hand which was going across the 18 yard box to the direction of his team mate who scrambled the ball inside the net.
"Some people came to us after our pre-match meeting and promised to bring thugs to attack us after our match"
"Some thugs even accompanied our opponent to their dressing room after the first half , harassing the match officials telling them "no security for you" at the stadium"
"After these people attacked us, they parked their bus at the entrance of the stadium so that they can continue their assault on us"
"It took the intervention of the security men outside the stadium before we could be allowed to leave the stadium" the statement said.
The club expressed worry that the same centre referee who disallowed its goal in Kaduna against DSS, stood against the team once again and allowed such a goal to be counted.
The statement challenged the management of Supreme Court FC to make the visuals of the match public for Nigerians to judge the match officials.
The club commended the NNL for putting together a smooth programme for the league and expressed confidence in the board to take the league to the next level.
The statement further urged the NNL board to closely monitor activities in the second stanza of the league so that clubs financier would not be discouraged.
