Alhaji Abdullahi Umar , the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, gave the charge while briefing his counterpart in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Alhaji Abubakar Mora,

The forum, which had in attendance all local government chairmen, held  at the conference hall of the ministry.

The commissioner said Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed  had directed all commissioners to participate in the exercise.

He, however, assured the Commissioner for Environment and Forestry of  the active participation of all the local government councils.

Also speaking, Mora decried the low-participation of local government councils in the monthly exercise.

The commissioner commended Umar for facilitating the interactive session with the chairmen.

He advised the chairmen to earmark a dumping site in their respective councils and as well as  mobilise their environmental enforcement officers for the exercise.

The commissioner added that the state government had provided more roadside  bins to ensure  hitch-free  refuse disposal in the state.
