Kwara Utd Retains 18 Players, Places Seven On Transfer
Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin, has retained 18 players out of 35 that played for the club last season.
The General Manager of the club, Mr. Haruna Maigidasanma, disclosed this yesterday in Ilorin when Executive of the Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara Chapter paid him a courtesy call in his office.
He said the Afonja Warriors would inject 12 new players and has placed seven players on transfer.
Maigidasanma gave the names of the players to include, Azeez Ikhana, Vincent Ogar, Mayegun Taiwo, Awwalu Aminu, Obiorah Christopher, Ahmed Adebusuyi and Adekunle Muritala.
He also noted that Luqman Ijaiya, one of the oldest players in the team last season has retired from football, adding that Ganiu Ogungbe has travelled abroad to seek greener pasture.
The Kwara Utd GM explained that some of the players that are leaving the club are yet to be cleared by their interested clubs.
