Mubo Road: Ask contractor back on site, residents appeal to KWSG
Residents of Mubo community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the state government to order the contractor handling the construction of road, drainage and bridge in the community back on site.
This came on the heels of last Tuesday's rainfall that wreaked havoc on some buildings and swept off the drainage under construction.
The development led to flooding, which submerged some buildings in the area.
This, the residents claimed, occurred as a result of the abandoned drainage.
A resident of the area and Land Lady of one of the affected buildings, Mrs. Janet Kolawole, who lamented the development, said the development paved way for water, which flooded I he' house and gave the family sleepless night
She claimed that the sweeping of the damage was Responsible; for their ordeal and called on the state government to order the contractor back on site with a view to forestalling a recurrence.
Also speaking, the President, Mubo Youth Association, Comrade Taye Bankole, also called on the state government to ask - the contactor to return to site.
He said, if the drainage had been completed earlier, the flooding and resultant submerging of houses in the area would not have occurred, but he commended the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, for approving the projects in the area.
Also reacting, the Managing Director of Commode Nigeria Limited, the contractor handling the project, Alhaja Aminat Obalola, said the company had since last Wednesday gone back to site to do the nessassery adjustment.
Obalola who explained that the company is known forquality and standerd job the necessary job attributed the scenario to sudden rainfall while the project was ongoing.
She, however, pledged the company's readiness to continue to offer the best for which it is known in the country.
