ACN has commenced inspection of gov election materials - Kwara PDP
As allegations and counter-allegations continue to trail the inspection of electoral documents and materials in the suit filed by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), against the election of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of the Peoples Democartic Party (PDP), in Kwara State, the PDP in the state said that the inspection process commenced at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, Kosubosu, in Baruten Local Government Area last Monday, contrary to the ACN allegation that PDP was frustrating its efforts to inspect the materials.
The ACN, on Wednesday, had alleged that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in the state had issued contempt proceeding, otherwise known as Form 48, against the state chapter of the PDP and INEC for frustrating the execution of the court order permitting the ACN to inspect, make copies and scan all the documents used for the April 26 governorship election in the state.
In a statement signed by the CPS to the governor, Wahab Oba and issued by the chairman of the PDP in the state, Honourable Ishola Balogun Fulani, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune, on Wednesday, in Ilorin, he said the purpose of the inspection was to allow the ACN to have access to all electoral documents and materials used for the last governorship election in the presence of the PDP, sequel to the order of the governorship election petitions tribunal sitting in Ilorin to both the ACN and PDP.
