Saraki asks Nigerians to reject election postponement

Date: 2015-01-24

Senator representing Kwara Central senatorial district, and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Bukola Saraki, has asked Nigerians to reject any attempt to postpone February elections.

Speaking with journalists at a campaign rally in Fufu, headquarters of Ilorin South Local Government Area of the state at the weekend, Saraki said the proposal to shift the poll was a way of avoiding defeat by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Saraki, who is Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, also asked Nigerians to reject the proposal made by the National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), saying it was now evident that the PDP was jittery having seen the handwriting of failure on the wall.

While asking the electorate in the state to reject the PDP and its presidential candidate, Saraki said the people should support the APC whose presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, hails from the same state with the late former President Umaru Yar’Adua.
