The Emir stated this today in his sallah message delivered at the Ilorin Central Yidi praying ground shortly after the two rakats prayer which was conducted under peaceful atmosphere.

He also admonished religion leaders to discharge their obligations in line with the dictates of Allah and his Prophet in order to inject the message of unity, peace and harmony into the society.

While felicitating with the entire Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the Spiritual exercise passed during the outcome month of Ramadan, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari urged residents to continue to live in peace and always shun violence even as he warned miscreants to have re-think for the sake of the Spirit brotherhood binding everyone together.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Soliu, implored Muslims to remember to complete the Ramadan fasting the discharge of responsibility of giving out Zakatul Fitri to the downtrodden.

He noted that "Life is vanity upon vanity and must be taken as such. The rich should extend hand of generosity to the poor in order to promote equity, fairness and justice. Let us also know that death is inevitable and resurrection is not a lie as enshrined in the Quran and Sunnah. "
