Kwara Election Has Shamed Federal Might - Saraki
Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and chairman Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Dr. Bukola Saraki, yesterday said the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state has demystified the "federal might syndrome".
He said there is no federal might that could be more potent the people's noting that despite the number of PDP leaders in the state, APC still emerged victorious.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Saraki said the APC government would open a new chapter for Nigeria.
Daily Trust reports that the APC won all the three senatorial districts and six federal constituencies, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as the presidential election.
Saraki, who was re-elected for the Kwara Central senatorial district stressed that the election outcome in the state was a lesson to politicians.
He said the elections in the state were free, fair and peaceful, and urged losers to accept the result. Saraki maintained that the victory recorded by the party was a reflection of its connection to the people.
