Kwara re-echoes mission for industrial growth

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to make the state investor' haven by creating an enabling environment for industrial strive.

The state commissioner for Industry and Solid Mineral Development, Alhaji Umar Baiwa Aliyu who stated this in Ilorin while receiving members of Kwara State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) on a courtesy visit.

He disclosed government's plan to diversify the state economy with a view to providing more employment opportunities the teaming youths.

The commissioner who assured government's readiness to provide adequate infrastructure to the existing industries, promised that the present administration would partner with prospective investors to transform the state from civil service to industrial driven economy.

The permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Bosede Orunmuyi had earlier promised that the state government would provide necessary assistance that would lead to optimum performance of all industries in the state.

Responding, the chairperson of manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, Mrs Lola Olobayo identified energy as a major hindrance to industrial development in the state and appealed to the state government to assist them in solving the problem with a view to improving the production capacity of industries.
