WAUG: BIU target 14 gold
Benson Idahosa University have set a target of 14 gold at the 13th edition of the West African University Games which started at the University of Ilorin Sports Complex on Monday,
BIU Team, led by the institution's sports council chairman Oyekanmi Adewoye, made the promise during a farewell ceremony organised by for the team on Tuesday.
While addressing the athletes, the school president, Bishop F.E.B. Idahosa, charged the team to be of good character during and after the games.
He said, &qut;One of our themes this year is 'Great men born out of preparation'; we are not just going there to participate but to excel because the athletes have really prepared for the games. I believe they will do well as they have set a target of 14 gold medals for themselves, but I know that we can exceed it."
